Congratulations to the Spuds Speech team for clinching their 8th consecutive AA state title! Three Spuds also secured individual state titles. Moorhead's performance earned them 19 medals, just one shy of the all-time State record, and matched their team-high achievement set in 2015. Their 98 sweepstakes points equaled both program and league records set in 2022. 🗣️ #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud

Over the weekend, Moorhead SkillsUSA students attended the State Leadership and Skills Conference in the Twin Cities. Several students excelled, earning top placements in Culinary, Tech Drafting, Power Equipment Tech, and Welding Sculpture competitions. 🛠️ 👨🍳#OnceASpudAlwaysASpud
On April 5, the Spuds Speech Team clinched victory at the 8AA Sections tournament for the 29th year in a row. With a seven-year streak as State Champions, twenty-six Spuds secured a spot for the state tournament in Shakopee this weekend, aiming for an eighth championship.

Last week, Moorhead Police Department School Resource Officers visited second graders at all MAPS elementary schools for a safety-focused read-along, sponsored by the Moorhead Police Athletics and Activities League. Officers shared the story of "Officer Buckle and Gloria," emphasizing important safety lessons. Every student received a copy of the book, and each classroom received a plush toy resembling Police K-9 Zeke. #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud
Excitement filled the Concordia College gym as third-grade students from across the district and Red River Valley gathered for a musical performance by the Concordia percussion ensemble, part of the Learning Bank program. Known for its innovative approach to arts education, Learning Bank aims to immerse students in the world of music. Throughout the show, students were introduced to a variety of instruments and able to immerse themselves in the world of music. 🥁

CELEBRATING 150 YEARS: The Moorhead Athletic Association provided the funds in 1971 for the purchase of a 47 passenger coach bus. The bus would be used so the spuds could travel in comfort.🚌 #OnceASpudAlwaysASpud
