Moorhead Area Public Schools and Family HealthCare partnered to open the Spud Care Clinic on the campus of the Moorhead High School Career Academy. School-based health services work to improve the health of students, increase access to healthcare and dental care, and decrease time lost from the classroom by providing services at the school. All Moorhead Area Public Schools students, staff and families are eligible for clinic services, as are members of the greater Moorhead community.

Services Provided

• Diagnosis and treatment of illness and minor injuries

• Routine physical exams (including sports physicals)

• Immunizations

• Medical and mental health management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, ADHD and others

• Vision and blood pressure screening

Payment Options

Family HealthCare accepts most insurances, including Medicaid. They also offer a sliding fee discount program based on family size and income. To see if you qualify, call (701) 271-3344 and set up a meeting with the Enrollment Team.

Can the school clinic serve as my primary provider?

Yes; the clinic's medical providers working in the school clinic are well-trained and able to serve as your medical home.

Will signing up mean we cannot use our family doctor?

No; you can still use your family doctor. You may find it's convenient for you child to receive care at the clinic if they get sick or injured while at school.

Will my child's information be kept confidential?

Yes; by signing the consent form, you give Family HealthCare staff and the school nurse permission to communicate and share medical information regarding your child's medical condition on an as-needed basis with the understanding that this information will be treated in a confidential manner.
