The school board approved the 2023-24 school calendar on Monday, Feb. 13. The calendar is developed by a calendar committee made up of staff and administrators from elementary, middle school and high school based on contract language and survey information from district staff.
Things to note:
- School will start for K-12 on Thursday, Aug. 24. The state allows us to start before Labor Day because of our major school construction project at the high school.
- To support the MHS move to the new academic wings in January, the day before and the day after winter break are scheduled as asynchronous elearning days for grades 9-12. PreK-8 will have regular school days.
- We are continuing common planning time for staff. On Professional Development (PD) days students will not have school. In months with no PD days, we will have Professional Learning Community (PLC) time, which will be late start days for students.
- This year we have separated the elementary, middle school and high school conferences as noted on the calendar. More detailed conference information will come from your student’s school.
- The last day of school and graduation will be May 24, which will be an early out day to prepare for graduation.
