Moorhead Area Public Schools superintendent Dr. Brandon Lunak presented Pat Sullivan with the Spud Spirit Award for April 2024. Pat is a Child Study Facilitator who works with every MAPS school. She is currently in her 13th year with the district.
Dr. Lunak surprised Pat with the award during a Special Services team meeting. He told her that her nominator—a fellow district employee—described her as “passionate, self-driven and committed to excellence and detail.” They said that Pat embodies every qualifier for this award, because she provides support for teachers and families to foster engagement and innovative growth for students.
“Your work builds important relationships with the community and plays a key stewardship role for the district’s resources,” continued Lunak. “You’re tasked with teaching the new special educators and you also work very hard to recognize the demand of this part of the job on all teachers. Your colleagues say you frequently provide sessions after school—and the teachers love the help you give.”
Pat’s daily contributions to district staff, schools, students and families exemplifies the MAPS mission to develop the maximum potential of every student.
