You may notice some new faces at the Moorhead Area Public Schools Operations Center this fall. The district is pleased to announce that Ashley Evans has joined the team as Human Resources Director and Kam Wingenbach as Director of Business Services.
Ashley Evans
From Deer River, MN, Ashley brings over 14 years of diverse experience to the Human Resources role. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Concordia University, St. Paul. Her professional experience includes roles in Ethics/Compliance within the pipeline industry, Human Resource Manager for both the Deer River School District and the Itasca Area Schools Collaborative, and most recently, as a Human Resources Business Partner in the healthcare sector.
When she is not working, Ashley likes to travel, work out, volunteer and snowmobile. You can find her spending time with friends, family and her labradoodle named Rico. Her favorite thing about back to school is the fall weather and change of season.
After working from home for the last several years, Ashley is excited to jump into the Spud culture and contribute to the continued success and growth of the Spud staff.
Kam Wingenbach
Kam joined MAPS in 2022 as a district accountant. He has a background in public accounting and was introduced to the world of school finance at Region 1 in Moorhead. Kam played basketball for the Bismarck State College Mystics before transferring to UND where he earned an Accounting degree. He is eager to lead the district's finance team as they support Moorhead students and staff.
When he is not at work, Kam enjoys anything involving sports, watching football, playing fantasy sports and playing softball, as well as reading and watching movies. And in 2016, he even got to throw out the first pitch at a Twins Game!
He and his wife, Ashley play pickleball and volleyball together but their favorite activity is soaking up every minute with their eight month old son, Miles. Kam claims that their goldendoodle Walter thinks he is the center of attention.
MAPS is excited to welcome these two leaders to the Spud team. Their experience and skills will contribute to the success of the district in the 2024-25 school year and beyond.
