Moorhead Area Public Schools is excited to welcome David Ahmed as the new interim assistant principal at Moorhead High School Career Academy.
Ahmed graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education. He also earned his master’s degree in educational leadership and his education specialist in K-12 administration from Concordia College St. Paul.
As an educator for 15 years, Ahmed has worked as a high school math teacher in Osseo, St. Cloud and Elk River. He has been a math teacher at Moorhead High School for the past two years. In addition to teaching math, Ahmed coached football, wrestling and track.
In his new position, he looks forward to helping students reach their maximum potential through career exploration and pathways that are interesting to each individual student. “I am inspired by the relationships I build with students and teachers and look forward to helping each and every student thrive academically and socially,” Ahmed says.
Outside of work, Ahmed enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the lake with his wife Cassie and their two dogs, and backcountry snowmobiling in the mountains.
