The Second Somali ECFE Night was so much FUN!! Thank you to all the families who came! It was an evening full of great memories and laughter!

A great part of AmeriCorps is creating connections with the school district, community, and ABE students to better serve everyone. In February we hosted a wellness and resource fair that included nursing students, literacy coaches, and the public library! It was a great way to socialize, learn, and connect! #AmeriCorpsWeek #WeAreAmeriCorps #DayoftheA

One of Breanna’s favorite parts of being an AmeriCorps at ABE is lending out Chromebooks to students! It is rewarding to see students grow academically and gain confidence in their digital literacy skills!
If you are interested in learning more about our Chromebooks contact Breanna at ac_blang@moorheadschools.org or call the classroom number at 218-284-3463.

A school age COVID vaccination clinic will be held by Clay County Public Health on Wed. March 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Family Service Center, 715 11th St N in Moorhead.

Our AmeriCorps member has been able to work together with district staff to collaborate on ECFE classes! There are ECFE classes just for our ABE Students and classes for Kurdish and Somali families in the community! If you have children birth-5 please join us for some fun, learning, and laughs at our ECFE classes coming up in the future!
The next class will be ONE week from today! On Tuesday, March 22nd from 5-6:30 pm here at the VISTA center! All Somali families are invited to come with their little ones! We hope to see you there!

Breanna Lang, AmeriCorps Vista with Moorhead Adult Education, presents to the Community Education Advisory Council on her 2021-22 AmeriCorps service.
She works hard helping adult learners to access Chromebooks for their learning and also connecting ABE families to literacy opportunities within the community. Thank you, Breanna!
