Robert Asp Elementary

Asp Families,

It’s almost April! Two months left, or 37 days, which is just crazy. We still have a lot to accomplish in these last 37 days, but it’s going to be busy. We’ll do our best to keep everyone up-to-date on everything we have going on, including building-wide in these emails, and more specific grade/class information provided by teachers. Please continue checking emails and backpacks for information first, and then reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

  • No School: There is no school tomorrow, Monday, April 1, for Easter Monday, so we’ll see you on Tuesday. Additionally, there is no school next Wednesday, April 10, for Eid. We’ll remind everyone again next week about this day, but wanted to make sure it was on your radar.

  • Excel: We’ll have Excel both days this week!

  • Weekly Focus: Our focus this week is on giving and receiving compliments. This is a great way to demonstrate kindness and build strong relationships and community in our classrooms and building, as well as outside of school, too!

  • Earth Day: Earth Day will be later in April and we’re working in our school and across the district to do some clean up activities on our school grounds. We’ll provide more info as we approach the date, but again, wanted families to keep it mind.

  • Read Aloud at Horizon: In April on Tuesdays and Thursdays Mr. Dan Dooher will be reading aloud this year's Newbery Award winning book, The Eyes and the Impossible by Dave Eggers from 4:05-4:35 pm in the Horizon West Library. This event is for anyone at no cost, but is best suited for students in grades 2 and up. If you’re interested and can make it work, head to Horizon on those days.

  • Community Ed Classes: If you haven’t checked out Community Ed classes previously, this would be a great time to do it! Spring/Summer classes are available now, so check them out online. There are many great opportunities like track camp for grades K-2 and grades 3-6. Check it out and sign up for something that interests you!

Happy Sunday! See you on Tuesday!

Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Knutson, principals
