Robert Asp Elementary

Asp Families,

Happy Cinco de Mayo! What a gorgeous day today! 3 weeks left and it’s busy, so let’s get to it!

  • ASP PTAC: Did you know our PTAC is amazing? Of course you do because we’ve been sharing everything they do the last 3 weeks. This week is no exception as we have a BOGO Book Fair this week AND our annual Walk-A-Thon. Next week we’ll have our meeting and like we’ve stated, we’re going to need some parents to step up and help run PTAC next year or we won’t be able to run fun events like we have this week. If you can help out or have questions, please reach out to PTAC directly. Below are the details of the noted events:

    • BOGO Book Fair: Buy one, get one FREE! We’ll have the book fair set up in the media center this Thursday and Friday, May 9-10, from 2:30-6:00 pm each day. We’ll actually have our Lost & Found set up in the main lobby as well, so swing by and visit both events!

    • Walk-A-Thon: Next Friday, May 17, is our annual Walk-A-Thon. During PE/Health students will walk the track to raise money for PTAC! Please consider supporting our students through online donations! Money raised helps fund field trips, soccer nets, playground equipment, the musical, etc.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week: It’s this week! If you haven’t already, please consider emailing or sending a note to your child’s teacher to let them know how much you appreciate them. Our staff works hard to build relationships with all students, which we hope you’ve noticed. We’re grateful for the time, energy, care and passion they give to all students, and we hope you do too!

  • Excel: Excel is done for the school year, but we have summer options! We’d love to see many of the same students this summer!

  • Book Rally:

    Please see this

    flyer

from Mrs. Hilleren regarding books that are still checked out to students. We’d love them all returned ASAP. Thanks!

  • Drills: We still have a couple of fire/lockdown drills to finish this year, FYI, so you might hear about those.

  • Summer Food Program: Check out this flyer for summer food options/locations!

  • Student Placement: Every year we share this OPTIONAL form that any parent can fill out if they’d like to provide us with some information to help guide our student placements next year. As we always say, we DISCOURAGE requesting specific teachers for multiple reasons. However, we love and appreciate any information that you think we might find helpful as we build our rosters. We work closely with our teachers as well, and together we’ll take all information into consideration as we build balanced classrooms.

  • Boundary Exceptions: If you are attending Asp on a Boundary Exception and would like to continue doing so, you’ll need to complete this form. If Asp is your natural boundary school, though, you do NOT need to complete this.

  • Family Engagement Activities: In the last six weeks we’ve had some family engagement activities, like conferences, StoryPalooza, STEM Night, and some music programs. We want your feedback, so we created a survey. Please complete the survey either online, or on paper. Some classes sent home the paper copy of the survey last Thursday, others will send it home tomorrow. Again, either online or on paper doesn’t matter to us, we just appreciate your feedback either way. Thanks!

15 days left, which means 15 days to make a difference! Please help your child, yourself, and us, by keeping bedtimes and mornings as routine as possible these last three weeks! Thanks, and have an awesome day!

Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Knutson, principals
