Robert Asp Elementary

Asp Families,

Happy Sunday! We have a fair number of notes this week, so we’ll try to keep it brief:

  • PTAC: Our Parent/Teacher committee, PTAC, is having their first meeting of the school year this week on Wednesday from 6-7 pm in our media center. We’d love to see a lot of parents show up so that we can work together to find ways to support all of our students this year. Come join us on Wednesday!

  • Weekly Focus: Our weekly focus this week is on our feelings and the Zones of Regulation. As we always tell kids, all feelings are okay. How we respond to those feelings, though, is what we’re focusing on. We’ll discuss the feelings chart and calm down spaces (link here to both), so please ask your child about those things throughout the week.

  • Lunch: First, we’re very impressed with all of our students, but especially our youngest ones, as they are learning how to go through the lunch lines. Second, our menu continues to be flexible to meet everyone’s needs. We don’t serve any PORK in any of our meals, which is awesome. All hot dogs, sausage, pepperoni, ham, etc are either beef or turkey based. For example, this week we’ll have ham sandwiches as a lunch option everyday, but it’s ham made from turkey, not pork, yet still super delicious. We also don’t serve anything with peanuts, instead opting for sunbutter sandwiches as an option. We have gluten free, egg free, and dairy free options, too, just reach out to our health office if you have any questions or needs to be communicated. Finally, we have a hot lunch option that changes each day, but then cold lunch options that change weekly. For example, this week our cold options everyday are ham sandwich (made from turkey), taco salad, and salad bar. Check out the menu on our website, or download our app (Moorhead Area Public Schools).

  • ICAC: We’re looking for parents to serve on our district Instructional Curriculum Advisory Committee (ICAC). If interested, please complete this form. Thanks!

Have an awesome week!!
