ASP Family Note

Asp Families,

It’s another beautiful Sunday! The weather will obviously turn colder at some point, but in the meantime we hope you and your children are able to take advantage of and enjoy some outdoor activities! We have another heavy week of notes, so we’ll get to it!

  • Online Connections: There is a lot of awesomeness happening at Asp (and throughout Moorhead Schools) on a regular basis. Some we share through our weekly notes, but many other items can be found online. For example check out our website or the MAPS app. School menus are a huge hit, as is our live feed, our news page, and our events feed. All can be found in the app as well as on the website. We also post our Spuds of the Week on Instagram (follow us - @aspspuds). Our morning principal videos are on YouTube, so if you’re ever wondering how we talk about our weekly focus, give us a watch. So much awesomeness!

  • Capital Projects Levy: Another item on our website is information regarding our upcoming levy. Please use this levy information graphic to learn more about the 2024 Moorhead Area Public Schools Capital Projects Levy and what support the funding will provide to our schools.

  • 7th Annual Asp Walk-a-Thon: It is this THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26! (we erred on the day of the week last week, sorry about that!). Please see this flyer for more information, and donate online here!

  • FRIDAY - NO SCHOOL: There is no school for students this Friday, September 27 due to staff development. Enjoy the three day weekend next week!

  • No Dogs or Pets, Please: With the warm weather we’ve seen lots of dogs and other pets walking to school with families, which is awesome. We don’t blame anyone, as we’d do the same. However, we’ve noticed that not all dogs engage with each other, nor with some students, quietly. As nice as all the dogs are, we have a number of students scared by them for a variety of reasons. Therefore, we’d appreciate it greatly if you could leave pets at home when dropping off or picking up kids. And thank you to those of you who noticed this already and have made the choice to do it already!

We’re excited for a busy, shorter week of school, so let’s make it awesome!
