Robert Asp Elementary

Asp Families,

Happy Sunday! It’s a short week for students this week, as we only have school on Monday & Tuesday. Then it’s a 5 day break! So we’ll get right to our notes this week:

  • Communication: Our weekly emails, as well as most of the communication from the district, will be emailed in your PREFERRED Language. For many families that is English, but not all. This week we’re sending our weekly email twice - once in English, and once in your preferred language. We’ll note it in the subject line so that you can see which is which and compare them. We’ll return to only one email in your preferred language next week, so please stop by the office during conferences if you need any changes.

  • Conferences: Just a final reminder that conferences are this week, on Mon/Tue evening from 4:00-7:30 pm, and then Wed morning from 8:00-11:30. If you haven’t signed up yet, please log into PowerSchool and sign up under the PowerPTC link. ADDITIONALLY - while you are logged into PowerSchool, please find the Annual Registration and Information Update link to verify you completed it this year. Again, this is how you let us know your most up-to-date information, including address and phone number. It’s also how we know emergency contact information, who is authorized to pick your child up, what you’d like them to do if we have an early out due to weather, whether or not they can attend field trips, etc. It should take about 15 minutes to complete, and if you need any help, please stop by the office during conferences and we can help with that!

  • PTAC: Our PTAC continues to be busy! They are running the book fair in our Media Center this week during conferences at the following hours: Mon 2:30-7:30 pm, Tue 4:30-7:30, and then Wed 8:00-11:00. We also have some fundraising opportunities - Clutch Automotive will donate $1 for every $25 spent if you mention Robert Asp when you stop in. Skate City will host Robert Asp Night on November 5 and they donate $1 for each person who skates that night and mentions our school. And if we get over 100 people to attend they’ll double it and donate $2 per person. Check both out! Finally, PTAC’s next meeting will be November 14.

  • Student T-Shirts: Every year we order t-shirts as a staff and wear them on Mondays, and then offer families the opportunity to purchase similar shirts. This year theme is PROUD - staff shirts will say, “I am PROUD of YOU!”, and student shirts will say, “I am PROUD of MYSELF”. Shirts run $9 each and are optional. Please check out this link if you’d like to see it and order one. We’ll keep the link open until Friday, November 1. Be sure to include your student name and teacher name when you order.

  • Lost & Found: We’ll move Lost & Found to the main entrance for the week, so please check it out and grab your kid’s gear when you visit for conferences. Everything remaining after Wednesday conferences will be donated!

  • MySAEBRS Assessment: Students in grades 2-4 will be completing the MySAEBRS assessment this week. It’s a brief screener of social, academic, and emotional well being. Please see the attached link for more information if interested.

  • Capital Projects Levy: Please check out the latest levy information graphic to learn more about the 2024 Moorhead Area Public Schools Capital Projects Levy.

We’re excited to see all of you at conferences this week!
