ASP Weekly Family Note

Asp Families,

Happy December! We feel like we say it every month, but it’s hard to believe we’re already starting December. We have a full three weeks ahead of us, so let’s get to it!

  • Late Start: This Wednesday, December 4, is one of our planned late start days. Buses and doors will be delayed 2 hours in the morning, which means we’ll unlock them at 9:20 am. The end of the day will remain the same, though, with a 2:30 pm dismissal. Thanks!

  • PTAC Meeting: The next PTAC Meeting will be held this Thursday, December 5th, from 6-7 PM in the Asp Media Center. Please consider attending, thanks!

  • Weekly Focus: Our focus this week is, “I can be generous!” Our principal videos and morning meeting discussions will focus on how we can be generous with our time, money, words, etc.

  • Labeling Clothes: Most kids came to school last week ready for the weather, thank you! The only downside, as we've previously mentioned, is that our Lost & Found really grows this time of year as sweatshirts, boots, hats, and even coats make their way to that area. Continue reminding your child to look for their gear. Even better, though, would be to label your child’s clothes. Even just putting your child’s last name on sweatshirt tags, or coat tags/labels, really helps.

  • School-Based Health Services:

Moorhead Area Public Schools has partnered with Family HealthCare to open a clinic inside Door 4 at the MHS Career Academy. School-based health services work to improve the health of students, increase access to healthcare and dental care, and decrease time lost from the classroom by providing services at the school. All district students, staff and families are eligible for clinic services! Learn more about this new service at

That’s it for this week! Have an awesome one and enjoy the weather!
