Asp Families,
Welcome to the last week before our winter break! Here are a few notes:
Dress Up Days: Below is our dress up day schedule for the week! Remember, students can choose to participate if they want or not, and our goal is to have fun (not add stress).
Monday: Hat Day (wear a hat)
Tuesday: Candy Cane Day (wear red/white)
Wednesday: Winter Blues (wear blue)
Thursday: Ugly Sweater Day (wear an ugly sweater)
Friday: Pajama Day (wear clean pajamas or comfy clothes)
Cold Weather: Thankfully the weather looks a little warmer this week, which is nice after we finished last week with a number of sub-zero days. Just as a quick reminder, we unlock our doors at 7:20 am every day, regardless of the temperature.
Weekly Focus: We’re going to be talking about compassion this week! We’re also going to be talking about a couple of BEs - BE Safe and BE Kind. We’re reminding students to use kind words, rather than calling names or swearing because we’ve heard a little bit more of that in the last week. We’re also reminding students to be safe by keeping their hands and feet to themselves, rather than hitting or kicking. If you can help reiterate that message at home this week, we’d appreciate it!
District Budget: As the district begins the 2025-26 budgeting process, please share your educational values with us. Your input will help ensure the district's budgeting decisions reflect our students' needs, available resources and shared strategic priorities. The short prioritization survey will take approximately 2 minutes and be open until Dec. 29th.
Winter Break: As noted above, Friday is our last day before a full 2 weeks of winter break. School will resume in 2025 on Monday, January 6!
We hope that everyone enjoys the winter break! We’ll email again on Sunday, January 5. Be well and stay warm!
