Asp Families,
Welcome to summer!!! Well, not quite, but the warmer temperatures this weekend sure felt nice. It will continue this week, which is awesome because it should mean plenty of time outside, both at morning Active time and during recess! A few other notes this week:
Weekly Focus: Be a Giraffe Hero! Again this week we’re talking about being brave & courageous when sticking our neck out for others and why that is important. One addition this week is a “tree” in our main hallway that classes will add leaves to with notes about how they are sticking their necks out. It’s going to be awesome!
Glow Party: This Friday evening is our Glow Party! Come and have some fun dancing in our gym with glow sticks!
Conferences: Spring family/teacher conferences will start next week, March 4, 6, & 10 from 4:00-7:30 pm. Schedule conferences now on PowerPTC if you haven’t already. The district sent an email about a week and a half ago with more info, so look for that if you’re unsure how to do this. Also, please note that the focus for these conferences is on your child and their work with their classroom teachers. Special Education teachers will only be available March 4 & March 10, and only before or after your regularly scheduled conference. The same is true for PE, Music, and Art teachers as well. Thanks!
Book Fair: This spring we’re going to host the PTAC Book Fair up front in room 102, which is the room closest to the main entrance in our kindergarten hallway. We’ll have signs up to direct traffic, but wanted to give the early heads up. Dates are as follows:
Sign-Up Geniuses: Our PTAC is looking for some help at the above Book Fair, as well as helping with our Silent Auction. Please click the links below to see how you can help!
SPUD Spirit Nominations: We have so many amazing staff members at Robert Asp who go above and beyond for our students every day. Let's celebrate their dedication by nominating someone for the Spud Spirit Award! Think about a staff member who inspires you, makes a difference in the lives of your kids, and embodies the Robert Asp spirit. Fill out the nomination form and tell MAPS why they deserve to be recognized. A district committee will then review the nominations and select the winner, who will be celebrated. We truly have the greatest staff!
3rd Grade Program & Event: This Thursday is our third grade music program and family event. We hope to see you here!
It’s going to be another amazing week in paradise!
