ASP Weekly Family Note

Asp Families,

Happy Sunday! We hope everyone was able to enjoy some time together during the break. While we still have days off in upcoming weeks, that was the last major break of the school year. In fact, there are only 50 days of school remaining this school year, which is hard to believe! Fifty days to learn and grow - academically, socially, and emotionally. It’s going to be an awesome ride! Some notes as we start back:

  • Weekly Focus: Self-esteem is our focus this week. We’ll spend the week talking about the importance of being proud of ourselves, believing in ourselves, and loving ourselves for who we are!

  • PTAC Meeting: We have our monthly PTAC meeting this Thursday from 6-7 pm in our media center

  • Excel: Excel returns this week! We’ll have it on both Tuesday and Thursday this week.

  • Yearbook: This is the last week to order the yearbook for this year because the deadline for ordering is this Friday, March 21. Here’s the link to order one online for $15. Select state, then city, and then our school to get to the Asp yearbook.

  • Rape & Abuse Crisis Center (RACC): Every year the RACC visits all Moorhead elementary schools to talk with our 2nd and 4th grade students. Our counselor, Jenny Welk, is also present during these programs. To read a little more about what each grade discusses, as well as the start dates, please see the linked pdfs: Grade 2 & Grade 4

  • Upcoming Events:

    • Asp Skate City Night: April 1, 6:00-8:00 pm. Have fun and raise money for our PTAC!

    • Keys to Kindergarten: April 3, 5:30-7:00 pm. A great night for incoming kindergarten students and their parents/guardians! Register

      here

      if interested!

    • STEM Night: April 10, 6:00-7:30 pm. A fun night of free STEM activities at Asp, along with a silent auction put on by our PTAC!

    • Last Day of School:

Just to put it on your radar early the last day of school is May 30 this year, which means 3.5 days of school AFTER Memorial Day. The last day will be a 2 hour early dismissal day again, which means 12:30 will be the end of the day. We’ll clap out our 4th graders prior to that. More information in the future, just getting the info out!

We’re so excited to see everyone tomorrow for the start of an amazing week of school!
