ASP Weekly Family Note

Asp Families,

Happy Spring! Or maybe winter?!?! It’s that magical time of year when every day could be a weather adventure. Dressing in layers is great, but make sure clothing items are labeled with last names so that if anything is left in a gym, on the playground, in the cafeteria, or even in a classroom, it can be returned to your child. Some other notes for the week:

  • Weekly Focus: Grit & Perseverance is the theme this week! We’ll talk about what it means to have grit and how it helps us persevere through difficult situations, whether at school with academics, friendships, etc, as well as at home.

  • Kindergarten Enrollment: It’s now open across the district! If you—or a family member, friend or neighbor—have a child who will be five years old by September 1, 2025, they are eligible to start kindergarten next school year. Registration is now open on the district website, and it's a quick process that can be completed on your phone, computer or other internet-connected device. Also, mark your calendar for Keys to Kindergarten on April 3 from 5:30-7:00 pm at Asp. Register here if you plan to attend, just make sure you select Robert Asp. We can’t wait to see you!

  • Community Ed Classes: If you haven’t checked out Community Ed classes previously, this would be a great time to do it! Spring/Summer classes are available now, so check them out online. There are many great opportunities for adults, but also for kids, like track camp for grades K-2 and grades 3-6. Check it out and sign up for something that interests you or your kids!

  • STEM Night: It’s coming up soon. We’ve extended our event by 30 minutes, so our new time will now be April 10, 6:00-8:00 pm. Remember, this is a fun night of FREE STEM activities at Asp! New this year will be a silent auction put on by our PTAC, as well as some food options for purchase. We’re super excited for this event and want you to make sure it’s on your calendar!

  • No School Upcoming: We have a full week this week, but next week there is no school on Monday, March 31 & Friday, April 4, which means it’ll be a slightly unusual 3 day school week Tuesday-Thursday. We’ll remind everyone again next week, but wanted to make sure it’s on your radar.

Let’s make it an awesome week!
