Asp Families,
Happy April, almost! Eid Mubarak! It’s an exciting weekend for some of our families and we hope that you have wonderful celebrations and family time! At school it’s going to be a short, busy, unique week! We’ll try to include all the details below!
No School: There is no school tomorrow, Monday, March 31 or this Friday, April 4. An odd, three day week Tuesday - Thursday. This also means that there is No EXCEL on Thursday, either, due to the day off on Friday.
Weekly Focus: This week is a double focus week! First, we’re going to talk about giving and receiving compliments. We’re going to focus on being specific when offering compliments, as well as how great it feels to not only receive compliments, but also to give them. We’ll also focus on some of the BEs again and tie them to compliments. We’d much rather see/hear our amazing students lifting up their classmates and teachers with compliments, rather than tearing them down with insults. Practicing at home is easy and uplifting!
Skate City Night: Tuesday, April 1, from 6-8 pm is Skate City Night at Asp! Consider heading to Skate City for a night of fun roller skating and rollerblading. Mention you are there for Robert Asp Night and a $1/person will be donated to our PTAC! It’s a win-win situation!
Kindergarten Enrollment: It’s now open across the district! If you—or a family member, friend or neighbor—have a child who will be five years old by September 1, 2025, they are eligible to start kindergarten next school year. Registration is now open on the district website, and it's a quick process that can be completed on your phone, computer or other internet-connected device. Also, mark your calendar for Keys to Kindergarten this Thursday, April 3 from 5:30-7:00 pm at Asp. Register here if you plan to attend, just make sure you select Robert Asp. We can’t wait to see you!
STEM Night: It’s coming up soon. We’ve extended our event by 30 minutes, so our new time will now be April 10, 6:00-8:00 pm. Remember, this is a fun night of FREE STEM activities at Asp! New this year will be a silent auction put on by our PTAC, as well as some food options for purchase. We’re super excited for this event and want you to make sure it’s on your calendar!
Resignation: We’re sad to share that Mrs. Yu, one of our third grade teachers, has decided to resign due to health concerns and it was effective last week. Her students, their families, and the rest of our third grade teachers and students are aware, as we shared the news with them last week. We wish Mrs. Yu well as she focuses on her own health and wellness!
Again, we hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! We’ll see you on Tuesday!
