Thursday, August 10, Moorhead Area Public Schools (MAPS) hosted its second annual District Showcase at the Moorhead High School Career Academy. This event was held to highlight school offerings and community partnerships, create connections and eliminate barriers in advance of the upcoming 2023-24 school year.
“Our goal in holding the District Showcase is to celebrate our students, families and schools and provide an opportunity to build understanding and trust within our community,” said Lexi Lundberg, event organizer and MAPS Family Literacy Instructional Coach. “It’s important to be able to provide access to district resources, administration and opportunities all in the same place at the same time.”
Throughout the Career Academy, attendees were able to get information from MAPS departments—including Technology, Transportation and Food Services—visit with individual school administrators and learn about opportunities with community partners and local youth activities. They were also able to receive Back-to-School night information, learn about PTAC involvement and fees, print daily schedules, obtain school supply lists and more.

2,000 estimated attendance
610 student schedules printed
100+ PowerSchool registrations completed
