Guess what? The Hopkins library has over 100 books still checked out to students. Unfortunately, when we don’t get those books back, the students miss out on some really great books next year.
The good news is you can still clear your student’s record over the summer. During summer office hours, you can:
Return the lost book
Pay for the lost book
Replace the lost book with a new one
If your child has books checked out, you should have received an email from lmelby@moorheadschools.org
Finally, here are 3 tips to get kids reading this summer:
Find material that they love and can relate to. Maybe it’s a motorcycle magazine, comics or graphic novels, travel brochures, sports magazines, recipe books, or a newspaper.
Listen to audiobooks. Listening supports comprehension skills and vocabulary!
Set a good example. Read with your kids, read to your kids, read the same book and have a discussion, have a designated family reading time.
Have a fantastic and relaxing summer,
