Hello Ellen Hopkins families,
As part of our commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students, I’m excited to share that we are beginning a Bullying Prevention Unit in our school.
What is the Bullying Prevention Unit? This unit is designed to educate students about the importance of respect, kindness, and inclusion. Through age-appropriate lessons, discussions, and activities, we aim to:
Help students recognize bullying behaviors.
Empower students to stand up safely and effectively against bullying.
Teach strategies for fostering positive relationships.
Encourage empathy and understanding among peers.
Key Topics Covered:
The definition of bullying and how it differs from conflict.
The roles individuals play in bullying situations (e.g., target, bystander, upstander).
Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
How to seek help from trusted adults when needed.
