A Message from the Principal

Dear Ellen Hopkins families,

Wow, what a year it has been! When I wrote this message last May we were in the middle of distance learning. Has anyone kept track of how many changes that have occurred in the past year? It is probably too many to count! As I reflect on this past year, our students, parents, families, teachers and faculty have all had to pull together as a team like never before. We have all had to be flexible, patient and work together as partners for the good of our students as we navigate the many transitions this past year.

This month of May we say a special “thank you” to our teachers and especially this first week of May as it is National Teacher Appreciation Week. One way our families are already planning to show their appreciation to the teachers is through our PTAC committee sponsoring each teacher with a voucher for books at the book fair on May 3rd and 4th. Here are a few ideas for ways your child could say “thank you” to their teacher:

  • Write a thank you letter
  • Draw a picture of their favorite thing about school
  • Send a family Seesaw message to the teacher

Please reach out to me if you ever have any questions or concerns.

I can be reached at (218)284-4330 or lgiddings@moorheadschools.org.
