Meet our team! This week we would like to recognize teacher Sarah Fiala.
Here are some fun facts about Sarah!
🔸 Dream superpower: To freeze time.
🔸 Favorite hobbies: Reading, baking and spending time with her kids.
🔸 Favorite part of the job: Getting to see students succeed when they thought they couldn't, and how excited they are about it.
Thanks for everything that you do!

To our parents, students, staff: you did it! Today is the last day of school and you are almost done. While the 2020-21 school year brought many challenges, it also allowed our staff to practice flexibility, creativity and teamwork. Our students stepped up and demonstrated impressive collaboration, communication and compassion. The community supported us all with grace, patience and responsibility as we together worked to focus on student success for each of our 6,500 students. You will go down in history, as teachers, staff, students and families that continued and excelled during a global pandemic. Thank you to all Spuds and our community! The work and dedication you have shown during this time, can't be put into words. 🧡 #SpudPride

Good morning Horizon families,
As we near the completion of our school year I wanted to thank you for all your support you have given us this year - it was definitely unpredictable at times. However, we have continued to move forward and tried to provide our students with as much of a typical year as we could.
With trying to keep to our 'typical' year, a standard practice for us has been to not allow backpacks on the last day of school. We will again ask that students not bring their backpacks to school on Friday. Lunch boxes and water bottles are more than acceptable, but please no backpacks, as there won't be any materials the students need to bring to school, or home from school on Friday.
Thanks for all you have done for us this year!
Jason Buckley
Horizon Principal

Reminder to parents, no backpacks are allowed on the last day of school. Students can still bring water bottles and lunch boxes, but please leave all backpacks at home.

Here's the most updated information I have regarding the yearbooks.....
Yearbooks should be in the HZNE building first thing Thursday morning. We will be putting labels on the yearbooks of the students that have purchased them, and they will be delivered to START teachers on Thursday, to be handed out on Friday. For students that HAVE NOT purchased and would like one, on FRIDAY morning, they can stop in the main office with their $25.00 check or money order -- NO CASH--- to have their name put on a first come first serve list. If we have extra yearbooks for those on the list, we will be calling those students down.
The plan is to deliver the yearbooks to PCE for those students at Spuds Academy to pick up there when they drop off their chromebooks.

Thank you to our Horizon East Leadership group, cleaning up the grounds at Horizon East Middle School.
