SGR Families,

Welcome back! We hope that everyone had a safe and happy break! We’re excited to get back to it and finish strong the last 47 days of school. Given that we just enjoyed our time away, we’ll try to keep our message brief this week:

  • Class Photos: Rick Westra will be visiting SGR this Friday to take whole class photos for the yearbook. We don’t offer these photos for sale individually, so if you want to see them you’ll need to purchase the yearbook. Other than that, there isn’t anything you need to do to prepare, just wanted all families to be aware.

  • Expectations: After every break we always work to remind our students of the 4 BEs (Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, Be Kind) in all school settings, which includes the playground, buses, bus stops, and even walking home. Students should be following those BEs in all settings, and we’d love it if you could spend a couple of minutes reviewing them with your child today or this week. Thanks!

  • Community Ed Classes: If you haven’t checked out Community Ed classes previously, this would be a great time to do it! Spring/Summer classes are available now, so check them out online. You can even sort them by Location, so if you’re looking for something at SGR, like this amazing Garden Buzz class, you can do that!

  • Family Fun Night: It is fast approaching (March 31) and we need volunteers! Sign up for a shift and the class with the most parents/guardians/friends signed up will earn each student in that class a coupon for 1 free hour of jump time at Sky Zone. Sign up here to volunteer by March 25. Please note your child’s teacher in the comments when signing up. The class that has the most volunteers, with at least 5 different parents signed up, will win the Sky Zone coupons! Thank you for considering volunteering and your help with this great event!

We’ve hopefully made it through the coldest of the weather now (fingers crossed), which means we’ll likely be outside for recess every day now unless it is raining. Please continue to send your kids in warm winter gear while we still have all of this snow! Thanks, and have an awesome week!
