SGR Families,
Happy Sunday! It is going to be a busy week this week, so let’s get to it:
Family Fun Night: This is our fun, carnival style event with games, food, cotton candy, silent auction with the classroom baskets and more! It is this Friday, March 31, right here at SGR from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. New this year will be an inflatable obstacle course that will be free for the kids to go on!
Games and the Spud Store will take tickets, which will be on sale prior the event at the school at these times:
Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri: 7:20 - 8:00 am, Front entrance by door #1
Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri: 4:30 - 6:00 pm, Back entrance by door #13
We encourage everyone interested to purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid lines on Friday and instead head immediately to the fun!
Volunteers: there are still a few spots that need to be filled to make this event happen. You can sign-up at this link

Ticket Info flier: Great info regarding events/cost!
We are incredibly excited for this event as it is a great way to start the last quarter of the school year, and it’s a fun time for friends and family to get together. Follow the event on Facebook for additional announcements and information about the event!
Keys to Kindergarten: Do you have an incoming kindergarten child? Does your neighbor or best friend? If so, we’d love to see you at our Keys to Kindergarten event this week at SGR from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Registration for this event is required, so please sign up or pass along the info! Also, if you haven’t yet registered for kindergarten, please do so ASAP. Thanks!
MCA Testing: Our third grade students begin testing this week! While we always stress the importance of great sleep, healthy breakfasts, and being on-time to school as keys to successful school days for students, it’s even more important on testing days. Our kids are no different than us as adults - we function better when we’ve had good sleep, we start with a healthy breakfast, and we make it to work on time. Not that we can’t be successful or have great days if one or more of those are missing, but the odds of success greatly improve when we have all three. Please help set your child up for their best chance of success by working on all three, especially if they are MCA testing this week. Additionally, our third grade students start testing at 8:10 am on their test days, so any students arriving after that time will have to take their test either in alternative locations, at alternative times, or both. We won’t have them join their classes mid-test because it is disruptive to the rest of the students. Again, we appreciate your help and support!
As you know, this week is Mrs. Nagel’s last week at SGR before she moves into the lead principal position at Ellen Hopkins for the remainder of this year and future years. Luckily, Family Fun Night is this week, so it’s a great opportunity to thank her for her time at SGR, wish her well at Hopkins, and show your appreciation by dunking her in the dunk tank! We’ll actually both take turns in the dunk tank, so make sure you find your way to the south gym!
It’s going to be a busy, yet incredibly awesome week!
Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Nagel, principals
