SGR Families,
Wow, a lot of snow melted last week! Unfortunately the melting snow turns into piles of mud in various locations around the building, as many of you found out when your kids came home. We obviously try our best to avoid this, but we also know it’s typical childhood behavior to be curious with mud. It’s probably something to be mindful of as outfits are chosen for the next week or two. Some additional notes:
Recess: Even with the mud we had a great week of recess, so thank you for the support! We’ll continue to do the same during the last 30 days of school. As for mud, snow, and outdoor gear, please follow the lead of your child’s teacher. Your safest bet is to continue sending your child with all of the winter gear because we’d rather have it and not need it than the reverse. But again, your child’s teacher can best share the classroom/grade level expectations regarding outdoor gear.
Walk/Bike/Roll to School Day: Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 3, 2023 as the national day of walking, biking, or rolling to school. Obviously it’d be great to start walking or biking to school even sooner if the weather is nice, and some kids have already started. But on Walk/Bike/Roll day we’re working to have some exciting things planned, so watch for future communication.
No School: Our last planned day off this school year is this Friday, April 21. This means it’ll be “Thursday like a Friday” this week for the last time this year. Hopefully the weather will be nice and everyone can enjoy a beautiful day outside. Time will tell!
It’s going to be another great week at SGR!
