SGR Families,
Welcome to Daylight Savings Time! It’s not going to be as light out for dropoff this week, but that won’t last too long. The time change probably throws off sleep schedules for many students, but luckily it’s a short week of school. Remember, Spring Break starts this Wednesday!
We have just a couple of quick notes as we head into this short week of school and conferences:
- Attendance: The last two years have been quite disruptive in many ways, but especially as it pertains to attendance at school. The importance of attending school in-person, and the consequences of not, have unfortunately been highlighted during the pandemic. We want all kids here, all the time, because that is how we’re going to support their growth the best. However, we still have to be mindful of illness and viruses, which means staying home for 24 hours after fevers, vomiting, etc. Please call the office if your child is absent for any reason, and please send them to school if they are healthy and in town!
- Conferences/Book Fair: Conferences are Monday and Tuesday night this week, along with Wednesday morning. PTAC is hosting the Book Fair in the Media Center during all conference sessions. Please stop by on your way to/from your conferences!
- Overdue books/fines: As we noted earlier this year, we need help finding books at home. We regularly send home notes when students have overdue books as a reminder. For conferences we have paper copies printed for both overdue books and/or invoices for books that are extremely overdue. We prefer to get books back, but have the fines as a backup to help us replace books that are lost, misplaced, or damaged. Fines can be paid in the main office.
Again, students only have school on Monday and Tuesday this week, and then it’s Spring Break the rest of the week! We hope to see you at conferences, and then hope you enjoy Spring Break!
