SGR Families,
It is going to be a BUSY, but exciting week at SGR, as you can see below:
- Change for Cancer: As you may have seen in the flyer we sent home last week, we’re raising money for the organization Brave the Shave this week. Please read over the flyer and if possible, send your spare change with your child. If you’d prefer to donate online, use this link and then share a print/electronic version of your receipt with your child’s teacher if you want it included in their class total. The three classes that raise the most money will watch LIVE as Mrs. Olson gets her head shaved. To kick this off, we’re asking all kids and staff to wear ORANGE on Monday! Also, please consider watching this video from our media assistant, Celeste, and her daughter, Mara. Thanks!
- Family Fun Night: For the first time since April of 2019 we’re going to have Family Fun Night! For those new to our building anytime since Covid hit, Family Fun Night is our school carnival hosted by SGR PTAC and we encourage all families to attend! It is this Friday, April 1, at SGR from 5:30-8:30 pm. Park in any lot and enter through either main entrance. We’ll have games, food, spud clothing, auction baskets, and even a dunk tank! Mr. St. Louis, Mrs. Nagel, and other staff will be hoping our kids have terrible arms so that we stay dry! Tickets are required for most activities (games, food, Spud store) and will be sold before school in the main lobby by door 1 this Wed, Thu, and Fri mornings from 7:15-8:00 am (cash only, please), as well as by both main entrances during the event. To make this event work, though, we need some help from you, our parents. Please consider volunteering for part of the time. All volunteers receive a voucher for FREE food/drink during Family Fun Night. Please visit this link to sign up for a time/activity that works for you. One final note - due to the structure of this event, there will be no Covid contact tracing. Thank you to SGR PTAC and everyone else helping to bring this fun event back to SGR!
Both events promise to be a ton of fun! Please consider donating your time or money to help out some organizations doing some great work. Thank you so much, we appreciate it. It’s going to be an awesome week!
Mr. St. Louis and Mrs. Nagel, principals
