A Message From Our School Social Worker

A Message From Our School Social Worker

Happy Fall S.G. Reinertsen Families,

My name is Sheila Stadstad and I am the School Social Worker at S.G. Reinertsen Elementary.  I am beginning my 17th year as a School Social Worker for the Moorhead School District.  I am committed to partnering with families to help students have a successful and positive school year.

One of our goals at S.G. Reinertsen is to ensure every student and every family are equal partners in fostering a healthy relationship between home and school.  Communicating and establishing a relationship with your child’s teacher and other school staff helps you to work cooperatively when there is a problem.  It is common for children to have a problem while at school.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher to find solutions together.  Staying calm and speaking respectfully about your child’s teacher and school in front of them will allow you to be a positive role model for your child.

Good home-school relationships mean children:

  • do better academically, socially and emotionally

  • are happier while at school

  • have more consistent school attendance

  • display more positive behaviors

Please let your school team know how we can best support you and your family. We want all students to be successful in school. If  you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call (218) 284-5473 or email me at sstadstad@moorheadschools.org

With excitement for the school year,

Sheila Stadstad
